SANDERSONS JOINS THE SERIOUS FRAUD PANEL

Sandersons, the Hull bases solicitors, have been awarded the franchise to be a member of the Serious Fraud Panel by the Criminal Defence Service who administer legal aid on behalf of the Legal Services Commission.

Defendants facing charges in very high cost serious fraud case are eligible for legal aid but this is only available through a limited number of selected solicitors. Sandersons is the only practice with this facility in the Humberside area.

Richard Thompson, the Sandersons’ partner who will conduct the cases, said “We are delighted that our expertise in serious fraud cases has been recognised following a detailed application and assessment procedure. We believe that this is further confirmation of Sandersons’ reputation for providing a quality legal service in both commercial and criminal matters”.

Richard will be aided by an experienced supervisory and support team who will be available for cases deemed as serious fraud where it is estimated the trial would last for 25 days or more, or estimated defence costs would exceed £100,000, and defendants face charges of serious financial impropriety on complex financial transactions founded on allegations of fraud.
